Primary objective
Provide high level, client-focussed generalist and specialised human resource and workforce management advice and support to
Northern Territory Public Sector agencies and employees.
Context statement
Workforce Services are delivered to client agencies under a centralised services model across a geographically and culturally diverse
setting. The Workforce Operations and Partnership team provides Workforce business partner, recruitment services, and
general operational HR support to client agencies through closely aligned operational work units.
This advertised role is based
within the Workforce Services Support, HR Service Centre team, who provide advice and guidance on a broad range of employment
terms, conditions and entitlements, and process HR related actions.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. As a lead Workforce Operations and Partnerships Senior Officer, work closely with the senior managers and Directors to
provide a responsive high quality workforce advisory service and support to assist client agencies manage their HR needs.
2. Work collaboratively with client agency staff and managers to ensure compliance with NTPS and agency policies, standards,
practices, delegations.
3. Participate and lead HR projects to review, develop and implement policies, procedures, standards, systems, and processes to
support effective and consistent Workforce Operations and Partnerships Service delivery.
4. Research, collate and analyse information from a variety of sources to prepare correspondence and provide high quality,
effective and timely workforce services responses and advice.
5. Build and maintain key relationships and work closely with team members to exchange information, resolve issues, provide
leadership, mentoring, support and training to foster a collaborative, effective environment.
Selection criteria
Essential
1.
Demonstrated experience and contemporary knowledge of operational HR management and recruitment activities.
2. Proven high level communication, negotiation and conflict resolution skills with the ability to establish collaborative
relationships at all levels and across diverse cultures to positively influence HR practices.
3. Demonstrated planning, problem solving and organisational skills, including effective management of multiple high priority tasks
to meet conflicting deadlines.
4. Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply employment legislation, policies and contemporary HR management practices
across a range of diverse areas.
5. Well-developed written skills and the ability to research and analyse information for preparing a range of high-level
correspondence and documents.
6. Demonstrated leadership skills to effectively supervise, guide, train and mentor team members.
7. Demonstrated work ethic and attitude which emulates DCDD values of being professional, accountable, honest, innovative and
respectful
Desirable
1. Good working knowledge of the Public Sector Employment and Management Act 1993, the NTPS recruitment and selection
processes or similar and HR Management systems.
2. Relevant tertiary qualifications in HR or a related field.
