Liquor Control Victoria (LCV) is part of the Justice Services and Regulation Group. LCV staff support the Victorian Liquor Commission in regulating the supply of liquor under the Liquor Control Reform Act 1998. This includes reviewing and deciding on liquor licence applications, inspecting licensed venues and events to ensure they comply with the law, investigating breaches, responding to complaints about the liquor industry, and helping businesses understand their obligations.
The Compliance division is responsible for conducting venue inspections, ensuring rules are followed and liquor is supplied lawfully. It conducts investigations into matters of serious non-compliance. It is also responsible for education and training, data collection and analysis.
What you will do
As liquor control inspector, you will inspect licensed venues and investigate possible breaches of liquor laws. You will support Liquor Control Victoria to promote safe and responsible liquor environments across Victoria.
You will: * carry out regular inspections and investigations across Melbourne and regional Victoria * identify potential risks and take action to support compliance with liquor laws * prepare explicit reports, recommendations and documents about inspections and investigations * manage complex issues and complaints in line with policies and procedures * support effective compliance activities through advice, enforcement action and accurate record keeping. About you
You will have experience working in a compliance or regulatory environment. A tertiary qualification in management, law,



enforcement or audit is desirable, as is a Certificate IV in Government investigation. A Victorian driver's licence or equivalent is required.
You should also have: * compliance experience and the ability to understand and apply legislation * investigation skills with experience preparing briefs and reports * analysis skills to review information and identify risks * communication skills to work with people and explain decisions clearly.
