Mark Dodge Motoring is seeking a qualified Light Vehicle Mechanic to join our team. The successful candidate will be a skilled and confident tradesperson, capable of carrying out mechanical repairs and servicing to meet or exceed Mark Dodge Motoring's high standards.
Your role will include, but is not limited to:
- Carry out scheduled servicing, repairs, inspections, and preventative maintenance on light and commercial vehicles in accordance with MDM standards, manufacturer specifications, and industry requirements.
- Detect and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults using appropriate diagnostic equipment, technical information, computer-assisted diagnostic systems, and testing procedures.
- Inspect, dismantle, repair, replace, and reassemble vehicle components, including engines, transmissions, steering, suspension, braking, cooling, and fuel systems, referring to service manuals where required.
- Test and adjust repaired vehicle systems and mechanical components to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation before vehicle release.
- Perform scheduled maintenance services, including oil changes, lubrication, engine tune-ups, and other routine servicing to ensure optimal vehicle performance and compliance with manufacturer requirements.
- Complete accurate job cards and tablet-based records, including recording work completed, time spent, diagnostic findings, and relevant repair information.
- Follow manufacturer specifications, workshop procedures, and MDM policies to ensure quality workmanship and compliance with workplace standards.
- Take ownership of assigned jobs and contribute to efficient workshop workflow and productivity.
- Support the Workshop Manager and Leading Hand by assisting with apprentice development, knowledge sharing, and maintaining a positive team environment.
- Represent MDM professionally when interacting with customers, suppliers, and team members.
- Maintain compliance with workplace health and safety requirements and promptly report any safety, environmental, quality, or security issues.
Required qualifications, experience and skills:
- Relevant trade qualification AQF Certificate IV with at least one year of relevant experience. Alternatively, at least three years of full-time relevant experience in lieu of a formal qualification.
- Strong experience in diagnosing, servicing, repairing, and maintaining light vehicles.
- Robust mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic skills, with the ability to accurately detect and diagnose mechanical and electrical faults and achieve effective first-time repairs.
- Proficient in the use of diagnostic equipment, workshop technology, and computer-based diagnostic systems.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship when inspecting, repairing, servicing, and testing vehicle components.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with management, apprentices, and team members.
- Professional attitude with the ability to prioritise workloads, manage time effectively, take ownership of assigned tasks, and maintain accurate service records.
- Commitment to workplace health and safety, continuous learning, and maintaining manufacturer, industry, and workplace standards.
A salary of $79,000 - $85,000 will be offered to the successful candidate.
