Porta is investing heavily in advanced manufacturing technology at our Mount Gambier site, and we’re seeking experienced industrial electricians who thrive in complex plant environments.

This is not domestic or light commercial work. This is large-scale production, automation, fault finding and plant reliability.

The Role

You will be a key part of our Mount Gambier industrial maintenance team, responsible for:

• Complex fault finding on production plant and automated systems
• Breakdown response in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Preventative and predictive maintenance
• PLC fault diagnosis (experience preferred)
• Electrical upgrades and project work
• Driving reliability improvements and continuous improvement initiatives

We are looking for electricians who can think critically, diagnose efficiently and work safely under pressure.

Current Roster Options

• Day Shift – 8.5-hour days (Monday–Friday, 9-day fortnight)
OR
• 12-hour rotating roster – 2 days / 2 nights / 4 off

About You

• Certificate III in Electrotechnology
• SA A Grade Electrical Licence
• Proven industrial maintenance experience
• Strong fault-finding capability in a production environment
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics and engineering drawings
• PLC experience highly regarded
• Strong commitment to safety and reliability

We are particularly interested in electricians from heavy manufacturing, processing plants, timber, food, packaging, or similar high-speed production environments.

Pre-Employment Requirement

As part of our selection process, applicants must be willing to undergo a pre-employment medical assessment, including functional capacity, audiometric testing, and drug and alcohol screening.
