At Huon Valley PCYC, we're more than a gym, sports and recreation facility.

We're a community hub where young people feel safe, families feel welcome and people of all ages can connect, participate and belong. Some of our young people tell us that our centre feels like their second home - and we're super proud of that.

As a community and independent not-for-profit organisation, we rely on community support, grants, fundraising and partnerships to make our programs and services accessible to everyone. This means the work our team does every day has a direct impact on local people.

We're looking for a practical, hands on person who wants more than just a job. Someone who takes pride in creating welcoming spaces, enjoys variety and wants to help us grow and improve what we do.

This role is part of a team of three Lead Coordinators reporting to the General Manager. While facilities and maintenance are the primary focus, our team works collaboratively across the organisation, supporting each other and contributing wherever needed to achieve the best outcomes.

What You'll Do

- Coordinate the maintenance, presentation and operation of our facilities

- Take ownership of our facilities and help identify opportunities for improvement and growth

- Complete general repairs, maintenance and handyman tasks

- Manage contractors and facility improvement projects

- Support cleaning, safety and compliance activities

- Support or lead events, programs and activities where required

- Help create a protected, welcoming environment for all visitors

About You

You could come from any number of backgrounds. You may have experience in maintenance, facilities, trades, fitness, recreation, community services, retail, youth work or something completely different.

Most importantly, you'll be:

- Practical, proactive and enjoy solving problems





- Experienced or confident undertaking general maintenance, repairs and handyman tasks

- Able to take pride in maintaining safe, clean and welcoming facilities

- Reliable, self motivated and comfortable working independently

- Community minded and enjoy working with people from all walks of life

- Willing to take ownership, show initiative and make the role your own

- Adaptable and happy to take on a variety of tasks, as no two days are the same

Because we work closely with young people and the community, the successful applicant will be required to hold (or be willing to obtain):

- Working with Vulnerable People Registration (WWVP)

- National Police Check

- Child Safe Organisation training

- NDIS Worker Orientation training
