The opportunity

As Assistant Coach – Top End Youth Academy Coordinator, you will play an important role in developing the next generation of Northern Territory football talent. Supporting boys and girls aged 10–15, you will help deliver a structured program that builds skills, confidence and a lifelong connection to the game.

This is a Maximum Term Contract role until July 2027.

Working closely with the Head Coach, you will contribute to a safe, inclusive and high-quality environment where young players can learn, grow and enjoy their football journey. This role is critical to ensuring consistent coaching standards and positive player experiences across the program.

What You’ll Own

You will support the delivery of a structured youth development program while helping create an engaging and inclusive environment for young athletes.

You’ll Add Value Through

Assisting in the delivery of the Top End Youth Academy program for players aged 10–15Supporting the development of fundamental football skills including kicking, handball and ground ball techniquesBuilding player understanding of decision making and game awarenessReinforcing strong training habits and consistent performance standardsPromoting positive off-field behaviours including respect, inclusion,



confidence and resilienceWorking closely with the Head Coach to deliver well-structured and consistent training sessionsSupporting individual player development activities where requiredProviding clear, simple and consistent feedback to players to aid developmentAssisting with training setup, pack down and overall session flow

What You’ll Bring

Experience supporting or coordinating programs and delivering structured activitiesStrong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage young participantsSound knowledge of football and a genuine passion for developing playersAbility to collaborate effectively and influence others positivelyDemonstrated initiative and the ability to work effectively with minimal supervisionRelevant qualifications in Sports Coaching, Sports Management, Recreation, Education or equivalent experienceAFL Level One Coaching accreditation (or willingness to obtain)Valid Working with Children Check and ability to complete required screening checksCurrent Northern Territory Driver’s LicenceGood understanding of the local football network and communityAbility to manage multiple priorities and deliver outcomes in a fast-paced environment
