Mackay Base Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join its Intensive Care Unit on a contract basis. This is a returns-only placement running from now through 19 July 2026, offering the opportunity to work in a dynamic critical care environment. The role is based in Mackay and offers a salary of AUD55.65 to AUD70.82 per hour, with a rotating roster of 8 and 12-hour shifts.
- Work in a specialist ICU environment with a focus on high-acuity patient care
- AUD55.65 to AUD70.82 per hour, with a maximum of 80 hours per fortnight before overtime applies
- Flexible rostering with 8 and 12-hour shifts, and guaranteed 8-hour breaks between shifts
Preferred Requirements
- Minimum three years of ICU nursing experience
- Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills in a critical care setting
- Proficiency with electronic medical records systems, particularly ieMR
- Experience with MetaVision monitoring systems
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced workplace
Preferred Qualifications
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
- Previous experience working within Queensland Health or Mackay Health and Hospital Service
- Demonstrated experience working in Australian healthcare settings
