About The Role!
A key member of the People, Culture and Member Engagement team, the Director, Workplace Relations will play a vital role in providing expert workplace relations and employment law advice to Guild members, branches and internal stakeholders. The role supports complex and escalated workplace relations matters and ensures advice is practical, contemporary and aligned with legislative and regulatory requirements.
The position requires a strategic thinker with strong advisory, stakeholder engagement and problem-solving skills. You will be responsible for leading the uplift and coordination of the Guild's national Workplace Relations network, establishing consistent service standards, operating models and ways of working across the organisation. You will also oversee the development of guidance materials, training, mentoring and knowledge-sharing initiatives to build capability and drive consistent service delivery.
The Guild takes its support of members seriously. This is a dynamic role, working across a broad range of workplace relations, employment law and member service matters. You will lead continuous improvement initiatives, contribute to policy development and advocacy activities, and support the delivery of high-quality workplace relations resources, tools and advice. Your work will directly contribute to strengthening workplace relations services for community pharmacy owners across Australia.
This role is a full-time, ongoing opportunity and can be based anywhere in Australia.
About You!

You are passionate about delivering high-quality workplace relations services and supporting members to navigate complex employment and industrial relations matters. You will have significant experience in workplace or industrial relations advisory roles and a strong understanding of employment law and regulatory frameworks.
- You are a strategic thinker with a continuous improvement mindset. You have a demonstrated ability to design and improve systems, processes and operating models, and can translate complex legislation into practical advice, resources and tools.
- Your approachability and professionalism inform your ability to build and maintain strong relationships with a broad range of stakeholders. You are collaborative, influential and capable of working effectively across a national network. Experience within an employer association, membership organisation or union environment will be highly regarded
- You are a strong communicator with excellent written and verbal communication skills. You have experience developing policies, submissions, guidance materials and member-facing resources, and possess strong analytical and critical thinking capabilities.
- Your experience in a similar role will set you up for success. We are interested in how your working experience and skills have prepared you to take on this role. Qualifications in Workplace Relations, Industrial Relations, Law, Human Resources or a related discipline are essential.

The Director, Workplace Relations (WR) provides expert, authoritative advice on workplace relations, employment law and WR matters to members, branches and internal stakeholders. The role supports complex and escalated issues across the network and applies legislative and tribunal requirements in a practical, member-focused way, maintaining deep expertise in the Fair Work system and relevant jurisdictional frameworks.
A core focus of the role is leading the uplift and coordination of the national Workplace Relations network. This includes establishing consistent service standards, operating models and expectations, and building capability through team-building activities, establishing a regular cadence for stand up and review meetings, developing guidance materials, training, mentoring and knowledge sharing. The role ensures a nationally consistent, high-quality approach to WR advice and service delivery.
The Director acts as the senior referral and escalation point for Workplace Relations matters across the Network and manages the WR Network functions; however, the role does not have authority to direct Branch Directors or branch staff, nor make decisions on their behalf.
The position drives continuous improvement in WR services by designing and implementing fit-forpurpose processes, service models, tools and workflows that enhance efficiency, consistency and member experience. It also establishes and oversees a clear escalation framework, ensuring complex or high-risk matters are managed consistently, with defined thresholds, roles and governance across branches and national teams.
The Director contributes to policy development, submissions and advocacy, and leads the creation of high-quality WR resources, templates and member guidance. It engages effectively with internal and external stakeholders and leads or contributes to strategic projects that strengthen WR service delivery, systems, and innovation across the organisation.
This role bridges strategy and operations, ensuring a nationally consistent, contemporary and highperforming WR function aligned to member needs and organisational priorities.
