Operations Manager — Club Kotara

Full-time | Kotara, Newcastle NSW | $70,000–$76,000 + super

We're a friendly local club on the up and we're looking for a hands-on Operations Manager to run the day-to-day and help drive the next stage of that growth.

About the role

Reporting to the General Manager and Board, you'll be responsible for the smooth daily operation of the club across bar, gaming, TAB/Keno, kitchen, functions and front-of-house. This is a broad, hands-on role for someone who wants ownership of a whole venue rather than a narrow brief.

What you'll do

- Oversee daily operations across bar, gaming, TAB/Keno and functions

- Take on management of the club's kitchen as we bring food operations in-house — overseeing menu, food quality, cost and compliance

- Lead, roster and support front-of-house, bar and kitchen staff

- Drive function bookings and make the most of our indoor function space and outdoor green

- Manage stock, ordering, suppliers and cost control

- Ensure compliance with liquor, gaming, food safety and RSA/RCG obligations





- Support member experience and help grow local patronage

- Work with the GM on budgets, reporting and performance

What you'll bring

- Experience in club, pub or hospitality operations management

- Robust people-leadership and rostering skills

- Experience overseeing a commercial kitchen or food operation

- Sound understanding of licensed-venue compliance (RSA, RCG, food safety; gaming experience a plus)

- A strong commercial head — comfortable with stock, margins and cost control

- A hands-on, get-stuck-in attitude and genuine warmth with members and locals

- Current RSA and RCG competency cards (or willingness to obtain)
