We are seeking a skilled and reliable Concretor / Formworker / Labourer to join the team at Nex Gen Structure Pty Ltd. This is a casual position based in Canberra, ACT 2600. In this role, you will play an essential part in the successful completion of concrete and formwork projects, contributing to the quality and structural integrity of our builds. Whether you are an experienced tradesperson or a dedicated labourer, you will be instrumental in helping us deliver professional results on construction sites across Canberra.
What you'll be doing
1. Preparing and setting up formwork systems for concrete pouring operations
2. Assembling, erecting and dismantling timber or steel formwork structures according to specifications and safety standards
3. Positioning reinforcement materials and ensuring correct placement prior to concrete pours
4. Operating concrete finishing equipment and hand tools to achieve smooth, level surfaces
5. Pouring, spreading, levelling and finishing concrete to the required specifications
6. Conducting quality checks on formwork integrity and concrete finishes
7. Cleaning and maintaining tools, equipment and work areas
8. Following all health and safety protocols and site-specific requirements
9. Supporting the broader construction team to ensure projects stay on schedule
What we're looking for
1. Proven experience as a Concretor, Formworker or Construction Labourer in the building trades industry
2. Solid understanding of formwork systems, concrete placement techniques and finishing methods
3. Ability to interpret construction drawings and follow specifications accurately
4. Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality workmanship
5. Physical fitness and ability to perform manual labour in varying weather conditions
6.
Current White Card (Construction Induction Card) or willingness to obtain one
7. Excellent health and safety awareness and adherence to site protocols
8. Reliability, punctuality and a positive work ethic
9. Good communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team
10. Preferred: Additional qualifications such as First Aid certification or experience with specific formwork systems
