About the Opportunity

The Executive Officer to the Executive Dean is a key member of the Operations team within ECU's School of Business and Law.

Reporting to the School Manager, this position provides high-level administrative and secretarial support directly to the Executive Dean. The role spans a broad range of responsibilities, from diary and travel management to committee secretariat support, project coordination, and office administration. The person in this role is often the first point of contact for matters referred to the Executive Dean, and is trusted to exercise sound judgement in how those matters are triaged, resolved, or escalated.

This is a role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, senior executive environment, values discretion, and takes genuine ownership of the quality and timeliness of their work.

About you

We are looking for a highly organised and proactive professional who brings demonstrated experience supporting senior executives in a complex organisational setting. You will be comfortable managing competing priorities, handling sensitive information with discretion, and maintaining a calm, solutions-focused approach when things move quickly.

You will have strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare accurate correspondence, minutes, and documentation on behalf of the Executive Dean and broader School Executive Team. Your interpersonal skills will be well developed, enabling you to build effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.

You will bring experience in coordinating projects and events, managing calendars and travel logistics, and providing secretarial support to committees or governance processes. You will be well versed in applying relevant policies, processes, and standards in your work.

Above all, you will be someone who takes pride in the quality of their support, understands the importance of the executive function they underpin,

and actively contributes to a high-performing, collegiate team.
