KJ's Mining & Engineering is a family-owned and operated labour hire and engineering business, established in 2009. What began as a small operation manufacturing tray bodies in the Burdekin has grown into a trusted supplier of over 70 skilled personnel to mine sites across the Bowen Basin - including Boilermakers, Mechanical Fitters, Fabricators, Trade Assistants, Supervisors and Operators. With a fabrication workshop Ayr, and areas of operation stretching from Townsville to the southern Bowen Basin, we're proud of the solid relationships we've built with our clients and our people over the years - and of a workplace culture that puts safety, quality, and reliability first.

The Opportunity

We're looking for an experienced Labour Co-Ordinator to join our team, managing the end-to-end coordination of our workforce across client mine sites in the Bowen Basin. This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives on building strong relationships with both clients and candidates, and who's comfortable moving between the office and the field.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end recruitment and coordination for mining and trades roles

• Screen candidates, verify tickets/licences/medicals, and complete reference checks

• Build and maintain a strong pool of work-ready, site-compliant candidates

• Coordinate interviews, onboarding, site requirements, and mobilisation of personnel

• Manage and maintain an accurate,



up‑to‑date manning schedule that meets operational and commercial requirements, ensuring all staffing allocations remain visible for the business.

• Confirm and reconcile employee and subcontractor hours worked each week, providing verified timesheets and attendance data to Payroll and Accounts Payable for timely and correct processing.

• Maintain and grow client relationships across mining, civil, agricultural and industrial sectors

• Identify new business opportunities within existing and prospective client sites

• Conduct site visits and regular client check-ins across the Bowen Basin

• Support and champion a strong safety culture across all operations, in line with KJ's KPI and safety reporting standards

About You

• Motivated, autonomous, and results-driven

• Proven experience in labour hire, recruitment, workforce coordination, or account management (mining or industrial sector highly regarded)

• Persistence, positivity, and perseverance to achieve successful outcomes

• Comfortable working independently, with strong support from the management and administration team

• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with clients and candidates alike

• Willingness to travel to site as required
