Fixed Term Contract, 12 Months | South Perth, WA

Every project, every partnership and every achievement has a story worth telling.

We're looking for an outgoing, proactive and relationship-focused Marketing & Communications Officer to support ISSG and its Aboriginal-owned client companies.

As the shared services provider, ISSG delivers corporate services to a portfolio of Aboriginal-owned businesses operating primarily throughout the Pilbara region of Western Australia. As our dedicated marketing and communications resource, you'll work across multiple businesses to uncover stories, generate ideas and showcase the achievements, capabilities and impact of our client companies.

This is more than a traditional marketing role. Success comes from building trusted relationships, asking the right questions and turning operational, technical and commercial information into engaging communications that promote Aboriginal business success.

About the Role

As ISSG's dedicated Marketing & Communications Officer, you'll lead marketing and communications across ISSG and its Aboriginal-owned client companies.

Working independently, you'll partner closely with Directors, Operations Managers and internal teams to identify opportunities, gather information and develop communications that support business development, stakeholder engagement and brand awareness.

You'll be comfortable engaging with busy stakeholders, generating ideas, capturing information from a range of sources and creating compelling communications—even when only limited information is available.

What You'll Be Doing

Storytelling & Content Development

- Proactively identify stories, achievements and marketing opportunities across ISSG and its client companies.
- Build solid relationships with Directors, Operations Managers and employees to gather information and generate ideas.
- Translate technical, operational and commercial information into engaging communications for a range of audiences.
- Prepare capability statements, company profiles, newsletters, media releases, case studies, presentations, brochures and marketing collateral.
- Coordinate photography, graphic design and multimedia content where required.
- Ensure all communications align with ISSG's brand, values and quality standards.

Marketing & Communications

- Develop and deliver marketing and communications initiatives that support ISSG's strategic objectives and those of its client companies.
- Promote the services, achievements and capabilities of ISSG and its Aboriginal-owned client companies.
- Develop communications that support business development, recruitment and stakeholder engagement.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen the profile of ISSG and its client companies through authentic storytelling.

Digital Communications

- Manage ISSG's LinkedIn presence and the LinkedIn pages of client companies.
- Develop and maintain content calendars.
- Create written, visual and multimedia content across digital platforms.
- Maintain website content and ensure information remains current and accurate.
- Monitor engagement and recommend improvements.

Brand Management

- Maintain and strengthen the ISSG brand and the brands of its client companies.
- Ensure branding is applied consistently across digital platforms, publications, signage, promotional merchandise and corporate documentation.
- Coordinate the production of marketing and promotional materials.

Campaigns & Events

- Coordinate campaigns supporting business development, recruitment and stakeholder engagement.
- Plan and promote corporate events, conferences, sponsorships and exhibitions.
- Evaluate campaign performance and identify opportunities for improvement.

Stakeholder Engagement

- Build trusted relationships with Directors, Operations Managers and stakeholders across ISSG and its client companies.
- Confidently engage with busy operational teams to capture information, generate ideas and identify stories.
- Represent ISSG professionally at networking events, conferences and community engagement activities.
- Develop an understanding of each client business to communicate its achievements accurately and authentically.

Research & Continuous Improvement

- Monitor marketing trends and digital communications best practice.
- Report on website, LinkedIn and campaign performance.
- Recommend improvements to marketing systems, processes and communications.

Business & Corporate Services Support

- Act as ISSG's primary marketing and communications resource.
- Work closely with the Business Operations Coordinator to support strategic initiatives and organisational priorities.
- Provide marketing advice and support across ISSG and its client companies.
- Support the Receptionist/Administration Assistant where required.
- Undertake other duties consistent with the level of the position.

What You'll Need

- Demonstrated experience in marketing, communications, public relations or a similar role.
- High level written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Confidence building relationships and engaging with stakeholders at all levels.
- Demonstrated ability to gather information, ask insightful questions and turn technical or operational information into engaging communications.
- A proactive and self-motivated approach, with the ability to identify opportunities and generate ideas independently.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities across multiple businesses.
- Experience managing LinkedIn business pages, website content and digital communications.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and Canva or similar design software.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in marketing, communications, public relations or a related discipline (desirable).
- An understanding of, or willingness to develop an understanding of, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures and businesses.

Why Join ISSG?

You'll have the opportunity to tell the stories that matter, showcasing the achievements of Aboriginal-owned businesses, supporting business growth and helping strengthen relationships with clients, mining companies and industry stakeholders. No two days are the same, and you'll play a key role in promoting the success of ISSG and the businesses we support.

How to Apply

To apply, please submit your resume and a short cover letter outlining your suitability for the role.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
