About the Role
An established industrial operation in the South West is carving procurement out of a manager's remit and handing it to one person. You would report to a site superintendent and own the function end to end. This is not order raising. Sourcing goods and services, running RFQs, negotiating pricing, assessing tenders and recommending vendors, working directly with engineering and maintenance on technical specifications for spares and equipment. Alongside it sits the contracts strand: service contract coordination and review, ownership of the contracts register, vendor set up and PO to invoice matching.

Key Responsibilities

- Run sourcing end to end, from requisition through RFQ, negotiation and award
- Assess tender submissions and recommend vendor selection
- Work with engineering and maintenance on technical specifications
- Maintain the contracts register and manage service contract reviews
- Manage vendor set up, documentation and compliance




- Match invoices to purchase orders and resolve variances
- Monitor supplier performance and identify alternate sources and savings
- Support inventory and stock control alongside the site stores team

About You

- 3+ years in procurement, purchasing or contracts administration.
- Genuine end to end exposure, not buying against an approved vendor list
- Comfortable reading technical documentation and challenging a specification
- Industrial, mining, resources or utilities background
- SAP advantageous, comparable ERP considered
- Self sufficient and hands on from day one. Small, long tenured team.
- Already living in the South West.
- Citizen or PR, able to pass a medical and police check

Also open to candidates currently in stores, supply or maintenance planning who have been doing the purchasing without the title.
