The Position

An outstanding opportunity is available for a Basic Physician Trainee (BPT) to join the General Medicine Department of a leading Adelaide metropolitan teaching hospital.

This accredited RACP Basic Physician Training position provides exceptional clinical exposure across General Medicine and a broad range of medical specialties. Working within a supportive multidisciplinary team alongside experienced Consultant Physicians, you will further develop your clinical knowledge while managing a diverse caseload of acute and complex medical presentations.

You will participate in structured training rotations, inpatient and outpatient services, ward rounds, multidisciplinary meetings and educational activities, while receiving excellent supervision throughout your physician training.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Delivering high-quality patient-centred medical care
- Assessing and managing a broad range of acute and chronic medical conditions
- Participating in ward rounds, multidisciplinary meetings and physician training rotations
- Contributing to teaching, education and continuous quality improvement activities
- Maintaining accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Working collaboratively with consultants, nursing staff and allied health professionals
- This position offers rotations across a range of medical specialties over a maximum three-year training program, providing an excellent foundation for a career in General Medicine or Physician specialty training.

Requirements

Applicants should possess:

- MBBS (or equivalent)
- General Registration (or eligibility for General Registration) with AHPRA
- Eligibility to undertake RACP Basic Physician Training
