Position: Farm Hand Location: Humpty Doo, NT Start: September 2026 for 9 months
Contract: Casual We require 100 Farm Hands for work on a fish farm. The role will entail a variety of hands-on labouring work in the field as well as work in the packing shed.
Harvest duties include feeding and harvesting fish, as well as mending nets and cleaning tanks. Post Harvest duties include sorting, packing, grading and dispatch of fish. Other tasks include general labouring and housekeeping duties on site
The work you will be doing is hard and physically demanding. You must be physically capable of working on your feet for long periods at a time and be able to cope with repetitive manual labouring work. This is a casual position and will be for a period of 9 months.
Workers are required to work 4 days a week, typically 10hrs per day, starting at 6am (40hrs/ week). Shifts are allocated on a 7 day roster, so you must be willing to work weekends. Pay rate is an hourly rate of $33.05 (level 2) in line with the aquaculture award 2020.
There are 80 positions available at this level. Pay rate is an hourly rate of $35.11 (level 3) in line with the aquaculture award 2020. There are 20 positions available at this level.
