Dynamic Refrigeration Solutions is a locally owned Darwin business providing refrigeration, air-conditioning, catering equipment and maintenance services across Defence, Government and commercial sites throughout the Northern Territory.

As our Service Department continues to grow, we are looking for a capable Service Operations Manager to help move the department from a reactive model to a more structured, proactive and profitable way of operating.

This is a key leadership role for someone who understands field service, technician coordination, job budgets, customer expectations and the importance of getting work planned properly before it becomes urgent.

About the Role

You will work closely with the Managing Director, Service Manager, Service Coordinator, technicians and subcontractors to improve how service work is planned, scheduled, delivered and reviewed.

The focus of this role is to create better visibility across open jobs, planned maintenance, reactive call-outs, projects, technician availability and job profitability.

You will help ensure the team is not simply responding to the loudest issue of the day, but managing the whole workload in a structured and commercially sound way.

Key Responsibilities

- Coordinate and improve the planning of service jobs, projects, maintenance work and reactive call-outs.

- Review workload priorities and support daily and weekly technician scheduling.

- Monitor labour, materials and subcontractor costs against job budgets.

- Ensure technicians understand job time allowances, scope and escalation points.

- Identify jobs that are tracking over budget or outside scope before costs escalate.

- Support variation management, including quoting, customer approval and documentation.

- Improve visibility of job profitability,



resource utilisation and work-in-progress.

- Help manage customer expectations through clear communication and timely follow-up.

- Support Service Manager, Service Coordinator and the wider service team with structure, accountability and practical operating processes.

- Drive better use of systems, job notes, reporting and workflow discipline.

- Contribute to a more proactive, organised and commercially aware service department.

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for someone who has been close to service delivery and understands how field teams operate. You may come from a background such as Service Manager, Service Supervisor, Operations Manager, HVAC/Refrigeration Service Coordinator, electrical/mechanical/refrigeration/facilities maintenance leadership, or project/service delivery management in a trades-based business.

- Strong experience coordinating technicians, subcontractors or field service teams.

- Good commercial awareness around labour recovery, job budgets and variations.

- Confidence managing competing priorities in a busy service environment.

- Strong communication skills with technicians, customers and internal staff.

- Ability to build structure, process and accountability without creating unnecessary pressure.

- Practical understanding of service work, maintenance, reactive call-outs and project delivery.





- Strong follow-through, attention to detail and documentation habits.

- A calm, organised and proactive approach.

- Australian driver licence.

Highly Regarded

- Experience in refrigeration, HVAC, electrical, catering equipment, facilities maintenance or Defence service work.

- Experience with AroFlo, Xero, job management systems or similar platforms.

- Trade background or robust technical service understanding.

- Defence, Government or high-compliance site experience.

- Ability to obtain or hold required clearances for Defence-related work.
