The key duties of the position include:

The Role

The Contract Support Officer plays a pivotal and high-impact role in enabling the successful delivery of government contracts across their full lifecycle. This position goes beyond traditional administration, combining data management, regulatory awareness, and stakeholder engagement to ensure contracts are effectively managed, compliant, and operationally aligned.

The role is central to supporting Land Network Integration Centre (LNIC) activities, particularly those involving personnel, controlled technologies, and defence-related goods, where precision, accountability, and attention to detail are critical. Working at the intersection of governance and capability delivery, the Contract Support Officer collaborates closely with internal teams, suppliers, and external regulators to ensure all contract records are accurate, transparent, and audit-ready.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment and wants to contribute to meaningful Defence outcomes. The role offers exposure to complex regulatory frameworks, including government procurement and export controls, while providing the chance to build deep expertise, influence best practices, and be part of a team committed to excellence, professionalism, and continuous improvement.

About our Team

The Land Network Integration Centre (LNIC) mission is to advise Army on its digital network integration efforts to maximise interoperability across Land, Joint, and Coalition interface boundaries, and to meet critical information exchange requirements. Its intent is to ensure that Army’s investments are integrated to maximise the operational effectiveness of individual projects within the Army Operating System.

As a progressive and forward-leaning organisation, LNIC offers a challenging and rewarding environment for individuals seeking to work on impactful, existing projects at the forefront of Defence capability integration. It is an organisation that values continuous learning, supports professional development, and fosters a culture of education, innovation,

and professionalism—making it an exciting place to contribute and grow.

The LNIC Contract Support Officer (CSO) plays a key role within the Business Management Unit (BMU), reporting directly to the Contract Manager (CM). The BMU is a central enabler of LNIC’s mission, providing integrated support across the organisation—including procurement, contracts, finance, human resources, travel, and knowledge management—to ensure teams (Exec, Advice, Modeling and Standards, Validate, and Engineering) can deliver at pace and with impact.

In this role, you will bring your expertise to support procurement, contract management, and financial activities that underpin LNIC’s operational success. You will work closely with a range of modern business and financial systems, helping to drive efficiency, support strategic decision-making, and enable the organisation to meet its objectives. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a high-performing, mission-focused team where your contribution directly supports capability delivery and organisational outcomes.

Our Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will enjoy working in a energetic team environment, providing practical support and advice across a range of organisational activities, including procurement, contracting, and compliance processes. They will be adaptable, detail-oriented, and capable of managing competing priorities while contributing to team outcomes.

Candidates do not need to bring full expertise in all areas; those with some relevant experience and a robust interest will be well considered. Importantly, individuals who demonstrate the ability to learn quickly, work through change, and positively adopt and contribute to the LNIC culture will be highly valued.
