About the Role We're partnering with a well-established building certification and planning consultancy that has built a strong reputation for delivering practical, timely advice across residential and commercial developments. Due to continued growth, they're looking for an experienced Town Planner with ACT planning experience to establish and lead their planning function.
Initially, you'll be the sole Town Planner, giving you the opportunity to take ownership of planning projects, shape internal processes, and become the go-to planning expert within the business. You'll work closely with an experienced team of building certifiers while enjoying the flexibility of a fully remote role based in Canberra.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage planning projects from enquiry through to approval
- Prepare and lodge Development Applications (DAs)
- Provide planning advice across residential and commercial developments
- Assess planning controls and identify development opportunities
- Liaise with ACT Government authorities and key stakeholders
- Prepare planning reports and supporting documentation
- Work closely with the certification team to deliver integrated project outcomes
- Help establish and refine planning processes as the service continues to grow
About You
- Previous Town Planning experience within the ACT is essential
- Solid knowledge of ACT planning legislation and approval pathways
- Experience preparing Development Applications and planning reports
- Confident working independently and managing your own portfolio
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Town Planning or similar
- Consulting experience will be highly regarded
