A leading organisation in Burwood is seeking a Credit/Collections Officer who thrives on collections, builds strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and enjoys genuine variety in their day. This is a 12‑month maternity leave cover within a supportive, established credit team.
Reporting to the Credit Manager, you’ll take ownership of your ledger while being cross‑trained across all areas of credit — including banking, allocations, new accounts, credit reviews, and query resolution. It’s the ideal role for someone who enjoys staying hands‑on in credit and wants a busy, engaging workload.
Key Responsibilities
- Collections activity — outbound/inbound calls, email follow‑up, and proactive management of overdue accounts
- Banking and allocations — accurate daily processing of customer payments
- Account reconciliations — ensuring accuracy across customer accounts
- New account setup — processing applications and conducting credit limit reviews
- Query resolution — partnering with customers and internal teams to resolve issues
- Journal posting — supporting month‑end processes and adjustments
- Cross‑department collaboration — assisting with billing issues and supporting smooth account management
About You
- Experience in Credit Control/Collections/AR
- Strong communication skills with confidence engaging diverse stakeholders
- High attention to detail and accuracy in processing
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Organised and proactive with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Comfortable working independently and in a team
