Northern NSW Local Health District is seeking experienced General Physicians / FRACP-accredited consultants to provide locum cover across general medicine services.
This role includes inpatient ward management, admissions, supervision of junior staff, and participation in multidisciplinary care planning.
Whether you're seeking a short-term rural locum or ongoing blocks in a relaxed coastal setting, this role offers strong support and flexibility.
Clinical Setting - What You'll Gain:
- Lead inpatient general medicine teams with registrar and RMO support
- Manage a diverse medical caseload including complex chronic and acute presentations
- Work closely with allied health, nursing, and subspecialty outreach teams
- Participate in structured handovers, consultant rounds, and escalation protocols
- Experience supportive clinical leadership with reasonable workloads
- Enjoy continuity of care and contribute to rural health outcomes
- Opportunities to mentor junior medical officers or contribute to service development if desired
Eligibility Criteria:
- Specialist AHPRA Registration
- Fellowship of RACP (General Medicine) or equivalent
- NSW Working with Children Check and Police Check
- Australian working rights
- Willingness to complete onboarding and credentialing

- Up to $250/hour depending on experience and shift type
