Want to be the reason a child's day starts with a smile?
At Thrive Children's Therapy, we believe every child deserves to feel understood, confident and capable. We provide evidence based, neurodiversity affirming speech pathology services that help children communicate, connect and thrive.
Our clinic is filled with laughter, bubbles, dress ups, high fives, the occasional dinosaur, and a team who genuinely loves what they do.
We're looking for someone who is much more than "a receptionist."
We're looking for the first smile our families see when they walk through the door.
The calm voice on the phone when a parent is feeling overwhelmed.
The person who somehow remembers every child's favourite sticker, dinosaur, or Marvel character.
If that sounds like you, keep reading.
About the role
As our Receptionist & Client Experience Coordinator, you'll be at the heart of our clinic. You'll help ensure every family feels welcomed, supported and cared for from the moment they contact us.
You'll be the friendly face greeting children at reception, the reassuring voice on the phone, and the organised person who helps keep our busy clinic running smoothly behind the scenes.
This is a full time, on site position based at our Sunbury clinic.
What you'll be doing
Every day is different, but you might be:
- Welcoming children and families into our clinic with warmth and enthusiasm.
- Answering phones and responding to enquiries with confidence, kindness and professionalism.
- Booking appointments and managing clinician schedules.
- Processing payments and maintaining accurate client records.
- Supporting our therapists with day to day administrative tasks.
- Managing emails and communicating with families professionally.
- Keeping our reception area organised, welcoming and running like clockwork.
- Helping create a positive, fun and supportive environment for every family who walks through our doors.
About you
You don't need to be a speech pathologist...
But you do need to genuinely love working around children and believe that every child deserves the opportunity to thrive.
At Thrive, we know that meaningful outcomes for children don't just happen in the therapy room. Every interaction a family has with our clinic contributes to how supported, understood and empowered they feel. Our reception team plays a vital role in creating that experience.
We believe our reception team is just as important to a child's journey as our therapists. The warmth, empathy and professionalism you bring can set the tone for a family's entire experience with us. Every phone call you answer, every child you greet by name, every parent you reassure and every problem you help solve contributes to the quality of care we provide.
We're looking for someone who understands that behind every appointment is a family doing their very best. Someone who is naturally warm, compassionate and approachable, and who takes pride in making people feel welcome from the moment they walk through our doors.
Whether your experience with children comes from your career, your family, volunteering or other meaningful life experiences, we're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys being around children and wants to contribute to positive outcomes for the children and families in our community.
We're looking for someone who:
- Loves making people feel welcome and helping others.
- Is passionate about improving outcomes for children and supporting families.
- Has previous customer service experience.
- Is confident using computers and enjoys learning new software and systems.
- Can confidently juggle multiple competing priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
- Is organised, proactive and enjoys finding ways to make things run smoothly.
- Communicates professionally and warmly, both verbally and in writing.
- Takes initiative and enjoys solving problems independently.
- Thrives as part of a collaborative, supportive team.
- Understands that no task is "just admin" because every interaction contributes to a family's experience with our clinic.
- Brings a positive attitude, a willingness to learn and a genuine desire to make a difference every single day.
Essential requirements
- Previous customer service experience.
- Personal or qualified experience with children in some capacity.
- Confidence using computers and web based applications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Full working rights in Australia.
- Current Working with Children Check
- Police Check no more than six months old
