Senior Data Engineer - Federal Government (Sydney/Melbourne/Canberra)

About the role:
The agency is undergoing a major data modernisation. We're hiring a Senior Data Engineer to join the Operations/BAU team and maintain, enhance and steward the Snowflake-based enterprise data warehouse and data integration solutions. You'll develop, support and fix the data pipelines that feed Snowflake, ensuring data quality and platform reliability across the organisation while the modernisation program unfolds.

What you'll bring:

- Expert SQL - development, optimization, tuning and code review in production environments
- Snowflake proficiency – hands-on experience developing and maintaining enterprise data pipelines and warehouse solutions on Snowflake
- Python competency – for data integration, pipeline automation and operational scripting




- Enterprise data warehouse & integration background – proven experience with complex data integration solutions and supporting data platforms at scale
- Real experience with DevOps, version control (Git) and software delivery practices
- Ability to read and apply data models, technical specs and solution designs

What you'll need:
✓ Australian citizenship
✓ Eligible for Negative Vetting Level 1 security clearance
✓ Comfortable with hybrid work across Sydney, Melbourne or Canberra

12 months + likely extension | APS6 labour hire rates | Agency sponsors security clearance | Submssion deadline 7th August
