Inverell Hospital is seeking a Locum GP VMO or CMO In-Charge to support Emergency Department coverage across night shifts.
This role is suited to a doctor with recent Emergency Medicine experience who is confident working overnight in a regional ED setting. You will provide in-charge support, assess and manage ED presentations, complete documentation and escalate care appropriately when required.
Clinical Setting:
Regional Emergency Department setting
GP VMO / CMO in-charge night cover
Overnight shifts generally 20:00 – 08:00
Suitable for doctors confident managing ED presentations independently
Supportive hospital environment with escalation pathways available
Key Duties:
Provide in-charge ED night cover
Assess and manage patients presenting to the ED
Complete clinical documentation and handover
Escalate patient concerns appropriately
Work collaboratively with nursing and hospital teams
Eligibility Criteria:
Current AHPRA Registration
Recent Emergency Medicine experience
GP VMO or CMO in-charge experience preferred
Strong clinical judgement and communication skills
Ability to work safely within scope and escalate appropriately
Current CV, references and compliance documents as required
