Looking for a varied, active role? Join our Resource Recovery Centre team and play a hands-on role in delivering excellent customer service while helping reduce waste and support a more sustainable community.

What you'll do

As a Casual RRC Operations team member, you'll provide high-quality customer service to internal and external customers while supporting the day-to-day operations of the Resource Recovery Centre. You'll operate Council's weighbridge system to accurately process customer transactions and administer Chain of Responsibility requirements for heavy vehicles.

The role involves assisting with the diversion of waste from landfill by sorting recyclable materials and removing contamination, as well as receiving, sorting, pricing and displaying items in the Upcycle Centre in accordance with established guidelines. You'll contribute to maintaining a positive, clean and safe workplace by undertaking general site maintenance, manual labour and material sorting activities, while following safe operating procedures and directions at all times.

What you'll need (Essential Criteria)

- Knowledge and demonstrated experience in manual labouring roles across a variety of projects in construction, maintenance and/or retail stock management
- Ability to work in a multi skilled team-based environment
- Ability to deal with customers on a daily basis, to deliver a service through effective communication
- Experience and or knowledge of waste streams, recyclable materials and types of contamination.
- Experience with retail /customer service environment
- Demonstrated experience in weighbridge applications and or sound knowledge of software data application and/ or point of sale software

Other Requirements

- Complete a pre-employment medical prior to commencement
