Our client is an established Sydney law firm with well over a decade's experience advising clients across construction, commercial and property development law.

Due to continued growth, they are seeking a Construction & Property Development Lawyer with 2+ years' post-admission experience to join their close-knit team.

• No KPIs or billable targets, genuine focus on quality work, not the clock
• Work directly with the Director on construction, commercial and property development matters
• Broad exposure across construction disputes, property development, planning and commercial property
• Structured mentorship from the Director in a hands-on, collaborative setting

• Close-knit team of around 11: Director, manager, lawyers, law graduates and paralegals
• Full-time, office-based role, Monday to Friday, Sydney

About the Team:

The team brings a genuinely multi-disciplinary approach, combining legal expertise with backgrounds in construction, project management and property development, giving lawyers here exposure to the commercial and technical realities behind the legal work, not just the paperwork. The team is a tight-knit group of around 11, spanning the Director, a manager, lawyers, law graduates and paralegals, offering a supportive and collegiate setting rather than a large corporate structure.

About the Role

You'll work in daily, hands-on collaboration with the Director, gaining direct mentorship and exposure to a broad range of matters spanning construction disputes, property development, planning and commercial property.



This is a firm that has deliberately avoided the billable-hour, KPI-driven culture common at this level: the focus is on doing quality work and developing your expertise, not hitting targets.

Your work will include:

• Construction, commercial and property development matters, working directly with the Director
• Construction disputes and planning-related matters
• Commercial property matters across a broad client base
• Day-to-day file carriage with genuine autonomy and direct mentorship

What You'll Bring

• 2+ years' post-admission experience in construction, commercial or property development law
• Admission as an Australian Lawyer with a current unrestricted practising certificate
• Genuine interest in construction, property development and planning law
• Comfortable working autonomously within a close-knit, non-corporate team
• Motivated by quality of work rather than billable targets
