Position: Plant Operator (Loader)

Salary from: $74,401.34 per annum plus Super + Allowances

Location: Munruben Depot, Logan QLD

In this Permanent Full-time role, the Plant Operator (Loader) will provide the safe and effective operation of wheel loaders and other plant and equipment to support Logan City Council's road and drainage construction and maintenance programs.

You will be responsible for operating plant machinery at a medium to high skill level, undertaking routine servicing checks, completing plant inspections, and carrying out associated labouring duties as required. Working as part of a dedicated field crew, you will contribute to the delivery of quality infrastructure outcomes while maintaining a strong focus on safety, teamwork and customer service.

Position Responsibilities include:

- Operate a range of medium plant and heavy vehicles to support construction, maintenance, and infrastructure works.
- Carry out excavation, earthmoving, grading, loading, and related civil works activities in accordance with plans and specifications.
- Conduct pre-start inspections, routine maintenance checks, and ensure the safe and correct use of plant and equipment.
- Follow all workplace health, safety, environmental, and operational procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
- Identify, report, and assist in managing workplace hazards, risks, incidents, and equipment defects.
- Work collaboratively with supervisors and team members to deliver work programs efficiently and effectively.
- Maintain accurate records and complete required documentation, including plant checklists, logbooks, and timesheets.
- Support team capability and workforce development by sharing knowledge, assisting with training, and contributing to a positive team culture.

Key indicators for success:

- Demonstrated experience operating loaders and other heavy plant and equipment within road construction and maintenance environments.
- Possession of a current Verification of Competency (VOC)



endorsed for the plant being operated (required).
- Current Australian "C" Class Driver Licence (required).
- Current MR Licence or higher (required)
- General Safety Induction Card (Construction Industry) White Card (required).
- Ability to undertake manual labouring tasks associated with road and drainage construction and maintenance activities.
- Ability to read and interpret plans and carry out levelling activities using simple levelling devices or GPS control systems.
- Applicants must undergo a pre-employment functional assessment and be assessed as being able to meet the functional requirements of the position (required)
- Certificate III in Civil Construction, Traffic Management qualifications, First Aid Certificate and basic computer skills are highly desirable.
