Job Summary: You’ll work in a team-oriented operations environment where flexibility, technical expertise and problem-solving are highly valued. Ideally, you’ll be based in Canberra, but we can consider experienced DBAs based in Sydney as well. There’s workplace flexibility in this role; you can work from home, on-site or a mixture of both, depending on what suits you and your commitments. A minimum Active NV1 clearance is essential to be considered for this role, and you must be able to participate in an on-call roster, approximately one in every ten weeks.

What you’ll do
- Manage and maintain SQL and Oracle database environments
- Perform database patching, upgrades and ongoing optimisation
- Diagnose and resolve performance and availability issues (e.g. slow performance, capacity constraints, infrastructure impacts)
- Support incident response, fault diagnosis and service restoration activities
- Collaborate with infrastructure teams to resolve cross-platform issues
About you
- Proven experience working as a Database Administrator (DBA)
- Strong technical expertise across SQL and Oracle databases
- Experience performing database patching, upgrades and troubleshooting
- Confident working in operational environments, including incident response
- Highly competent, hands-on technical capability (depth of skill is more important than years of experience)
