We’re hiring across six core disciplines: Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Services Engineering,
Construction Management, Commercial Management and Planning & Project Controls. At the end of the programme, all Interns will be given priority consideration to join the 2020 Graduate Programme.

About the Internship Programme
The Laing O’Rourke Internship Programme is designed with high potential, highly motivated, driven university students in mind. The programme combines practical on-the-job experience with technical learning, professional development and support by experienced and industry leading professionals.
You will have the opportunity to gain real insight into the business and have access to our senior leaders while working on one of our live projects across Australia. In addition to gaining real industry experience, you will also have a diverse range of personal development opportunities including on-the-job supervision and feedback, a weekly intern-training programme, group work, one-on-one coaching with our L&D; team and a formal performance review with your line manager. Our objective is to help you develop the essential skills for a successful transition into industry after you graduate.
The world of Civil Engineering
Our portfolio of projects at Laing O'Rourke spans across rail, infrastructure, defence and buildings. Civil Engineers are involved in all aspects of these types of projects. This includes, actual construction, design, planning, logistics, project management, maintenance and commercial. Our Civil Engineering teams have a natural curiosity about how things are built, whilst using the best technology and process to change the very nature of our industry. Civil Engineers work with others to innovate, solve problems and deliver key packages of work on some of Australia’s most challenging and icon projects. They really do help design and construct the world around us.
What do we look for?
We are looking for bright, motivated, high-potential undergraduates who are due to complete your degree next year, and intend to apply for our 2020 Graduate Development Programme.
In addition to technical skills and qualifications, we look for students who:
- Completing a Civil Engineering degree.
