Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-focused and commercially minded Estimator to join our team in Parkhurst. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with drawings, specifications, supplier pricing and project teams to build accurate, competitive estimates. You will play a key role in helping us quote confidently, plan effectively and deliver projects that meet both client expectations and business targets.

Key Responsibilities

· Review project drawings, specifications, scopes of work and related documents to prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates.

· Complete quantity take-offs and material cost analysis for fabrication, construction and maintenance works.

· Source pricing from suppliers,



subcontractors and internal teams to ensure estimates reflect current market conditions.

· Assess labour, equipment, materials, freight and subcontractor costs to prepare practical project budgets.

· Prepare professional estimate summaries, quote documentation and supporting information for internal review and client submissions.

· Identify risks, exclusions, assumptions and potential cost-saving opportunities during the estimating process.

· Work closely with project managers, supervisors, engineers and workshop teams to clarify project requirements and improve estimate accuracy.

· Maintain organised records of estimates, supplier pricing, project correspondence and quote revisions.

· Contribute to continuous improvement of estimating templates, pricing databases and internal processes.

Requirements

· Previous experience in estimating within construction, fabrication, engineering, maintenance or a similar trade-based environment.

· Strong understanding of construction materials, fabrication processes, labour requirements and cost estimating principles.

· Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, scopes and technical documentation.





· Confident computer skills, including MS Office; experience with estimating, take-off or project management software will be highly regarded.

· Excellent attention to detail, numeracy, analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.

· Strong communication skills and the confidence to liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, clients and internal project teams.

· Ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines and work both independently and as part of a team.

· A relevant qualification in construction management, engineering, drafting, quantity surveying or a related field is preferred but not essential where equivalent experience can be demonstrated.
