St Joseph's Primary School, East Maitland, is a systemic Catholic school situated in the Hunter Valley NSW, catering to students from Kindergarten to Year 6. Committed to meeting the learning needs of all students, the school blends traditional and contemporary learning styles and has a range of first class facilities that serve a wide and diverse cross section of communities, both rural and urban, in the Morpeth and East Maitland Parishes.

The Primary Coordinator works in collaboration with the school leadership team and colleagues to promote the school as a place of learning and excellence. As a member of the school leadership team,



they are entrusted with the responsibility to assist students in making sense of their world, to make informed decisions and judgements, and to act with moral and ethical integrity. Across the school they will:

- develop, implement and oversee the school’s strategic learning initiatives
- support the monitoring and review of school improvement initiatives
- support the monitoring and review of school compliance
- lead, model and support the ongoing development, implementation and oversight of quality teaching programs and learning outcomes
- model and promote contemporary and creative pedagogical practices
- contribute to the development of a culture of collegiality and reflective practice
- support individuals in identifying new learning experiences to support their continued professional development
- know their students and strive to provide engaging learning that supports student wellbeing

**Desired Skills and Experience**:
**EXPERIENCE/CRITERIA**
- Ability to articulate a clear understanding of and a personal commitment to Catholic Education and to actively supporting the Catholic ethos and culture of the school. For Primary or Religion Teaching positions you must also be Catholic
- Demonstrated ability to effectively utilise assessment and relevant school data to optimise organisational and educational outcomes




- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with school staff and members of the wider community in order to establish productive partnerships and achieve educational outcomes
- Demonstrate an innovative and agile mindset that supports and enhances a culture of continuous improvement within the school environment
- Experience teaching Year 3 (Desirable)

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Qualifications as a four-year trained teacher
- Active NESA Accreditation
- Current paid NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC) number
- Completion of anaphylaxis training
- Completion of CPR training

**CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT**

Salary is in accordance with New South Wales & Australian Capital Territory Catholic Systemic Schools Enterprise Agreement 2023.
