Artek Joinery located in O'Connor are looking for experienced Cabinet Makers, CNC Wood Machinists, and Joiners to join our team.

To be considered for these roles, you will need to have full working rights and at least 3 years' experience working in a similar role.

Cabinet Makers will assist with the manufacturing and installation of custom made joinery for commercial projects in our well equipped factory. Responsibilities for the Cabinet Maker role include:

- Studying blueprints or drawings of articles to be constructed or repaired, and planning sequence of cutting or shaping operations to be performed.
- Matching materials for colour, grain, or texture.
- Setting up and operating woodworking machines, such as power saws, jointers, moulder, and CNC to cut and shape parts from wood stock.
- Installing hardware such as hinges, catches, shelves and drawer pulls, using hand tools.
- Trimming, sanding, and scraping surfaces and joints to prepare articles for finishing.
- Verifying dimensions and checking the quality and fit of pieces in order to ensure adherence to specifications.




- Discussing projects with customers and draw up detailed specifications.
- Cutting timber to the right size and shape, and trimming parts of joints to ensure a snug fit, using hand tools such as planes, chisels and wood files.
- Gluing, fitting, and clamping parts and subassemblies together to form complete unit, using clamps or clamping machinery.
- Boring holes for insertion of screws or dowels by hand or using boring machine.
- Contributing to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Installation of wooden material to produce the finished product.
- Assembling parts to form sections of furniture and completed articles.

CNC Wood Machinists will be responsible for setting up, operating, and servicing/maintaining woodworking machines to shape wood. Joiners will be responsible for cutting, shaping, and assembling timber components in to create structures and fittings ready for installation.

Remuneration between $78,000 and $80,000 will be offered to the successful candidates.

These are full time roles (8 hour shifts). The roles are based in O'Connor (Perth, WA) and you will need the ability to reliably commute or relocate to the area before starting work.
