NorthPsych is a growing psychology practice looking for an experienced Medical Receptionist to join our team on a casual basis at our West Melbourne clinic.
As the first point of contact for our clients, you will play an important role in delivering a warm and professional experience. We are seeking someone who is reliable, organised, and takes pride in delivering high-quality support to clients seeking psychological care.
Key Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must have:
Minimum 2 years of experience as a Medical Receptionist in a private psychology or medical practice. Applications without previous medical reception experience will not be considered.
Experience using medical practice management software. Proficiency in Halaxy is strongly preferred and candidates with Halaxy experience will be prioritised.
Solid organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
Excellent phone manner and strong verbal communication skills.
A compassionate and professional approach when communicating with clients.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
An interest in mental health or experience working in a mental health setting is highly regarded.
Key Responsibilities:
Responding to phone calls, emails, and client inquiries with professionalism and empathy.
Scheduling and managing appointments using Halaxy.
Processing payments, Medicare claims, and invoices.
Maintaining accurate client records and confidentiality.
Liaising with psychologists, clients, and referrers.
Providing general administrative support to the practice.
Hours:
At minimum, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday between 1:00pm – 5:00pm
Option to work Monday and/or Friday
There may be occasional opportunities to work from home according to operational requirements. However, working in office is the primary location for this role.
