Cincotta Discount Chemist Auburn is seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Assistant to join our team on a full-time basis in Auburn, NSW. As a Pharmacy Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our pharmacy team to deliver exceptional service to our customers whilst maintaining the highest standards of pharmacy practice and compliance.
Candidates must be Australian permanent residents or citizens with full working rights in Australia.
What you'll be doing
1. Assisting the pharmacist with dispensing medications and preparing prescriptions accurately and efficiently
2. Managing the pharmacy counter and attending to customer enquiries with professionalism and courtesy
3. Processing customer payments and operating the point-of-sale system
4. Receiving and unpacking pharmaceutical stock deliveries, checking for accuracy and quality
5. Maintaining neat and well-organised pharmacy shelves and storage areas
6. Assisting with inventory management, stock rotation and stocktaking activities
7. Supporting the pharmacist with administrative tasks including patient records and documentation
8. Providing general health and wellness advice under the supervision of the pharmacist
9. Maintaining compliance with pharmacy regulations, privacy laws and health and safety standards
10. Contributing to a positive team environment and supporting colleagues as needed
What we're looking for
1. A qualification as a Pharmacy Assistant or equivalent accreditation recognised in New South Wales
2. Strong communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with customers and healthcare professionals
3. Excellent numeracy and literacy skills with attention to detail
4.
Reliable, organised and proactive approach to work
5. Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions from the supervising pharmacist
6. Knowledge of pharmacy practice and pharmaceutical products
7. Familiarity with pharmacy management systems and point-of-sale technology
8. A commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to privacy regulations
9. Physical capability to stand for extended periods and lift items as required
10. Previous experience in a pharmacy or retail environment is highly valued
