Jazz & Contemporary Piano Teacher

$35-$45 per hour | Highgate Hill, Brisbane

Zac Piya Music is a fast-growing contemporary music studio specialising in jazz, pop, R&B; and artist development. We’re looking for a skilled jazz/contemporary pianist who loves teaching and can inspire students to develop strong musicianship.

Our students learn improvisation, ear training, jazz harmony, repertoire and contemporary styles, so we’re seeking a teacher with solid real-world musical skills.

What You’ll Teach:
Jazz repertoire and standards

Jazz improvisation and chord-scale relationships

Ear training and musicianship

Jazz harmony and theory

Contemporary styles (pop, R&B;, soul, neo-soul)

Minimum Qualifications:
Rockschool Grade 6, AMEB Grade 6, or equivalent level

OR Bachelor of Music majoring in Jazz or Contemporary Piano/Keys

Current Bachelor of Music students are encouraged to apply

Strong ability in jazz improvisation, ear training and harmony

Highly Valued:
Conservatorium students or graduates





Gigging jazz or contemporary pianists

Ability to teach groove, comping and stylistic playing

Teaching experience with children or teenagers
