The Role
Our Paediatrician provides clinical leadership to a wide range of clinicians working with kids, specifically aiming to drive access to culturally appropriate, high quality, comprehensive paediatric health services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people / clients of DDHS. This role has a focus on developmental paediatrics / general paediatrics and works as part of an integrated, multidisciplinary team.
There is a significant primary care component of this role as well as working with specific programs across the service. There is also a requirement to participate in the development of improved child health services appropriate to meeting the needs of DDHS.

This is a part-time 0.5 FTE or full-time role. Days of work can be flexible to suit the right applicant.

Is the role right for you?




• AHPRA registration with minimum of two years post-Fellowship clinical experience.
• Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians – General Paediatrician
• Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise with people from a wide range of cultural and social backgrounds.
• Demonstrated high standard of written skills in the preparation of reports, general correspondence and documentations.
• Strong organisational skills and demonstrated ability to plan, manage and prioritise tasks and resources to deliver outcomes within time and budget considerations.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team in a cross cultural and complex environment.
• Understanding and respect of the importance of the role of Aboriginal community controlled organisations.
• Demonstrated competence in working with and understanding Medicare in a community setting.
• Knowledge of the Australian healthcare system and an understanding of contemporary health policy

• To work with DDHS you must hold, or be willing to obtain, a current police check, a valid NT working with children’s card, a current CPR certificate and full vaccination against COVID-19,
