Child Centred Practitioner

Part time – 15 hours per week. (12 month contract)

Over the last 70 years Relationships Australia WA has been providing relationship support services for individual, couples, families and communities. About the role

We are offering a permanent part time role of Child Centred Practitioner in the team at Perth Office. The position involves conducting one on one child focused psycho-educational sessions with parents who are going through the family dispute resolution process after separation. It also involves conducting child inclusive appointments with the children of these families and providing feedback to the parents, as Child Inclusive Practice. The current vacancy is 15 hours per week.

Skills, experience, and qualifications

· Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling or a related discipline.

· Demonstrated knowledge of child development, attachment, trauma, grief and family dynamics, particularly in the context of separation.

· Understanding of family and domestic violence and its impact on children and families.

· Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to engage with a diverse range of clients.

· Ability to work effectively with children, families and people from diverse and disadvantaged backgrounds.

· Ability to maintain accurate case notes, reports and client confidentiality in line with professional standards.

· Commitment to reflective practice,



participation in clinical supervision and ongoing career development.

· Sound administrative and organisational skills, including Microsoft Office proficiency.
