Role description

We are seeking a motivated and versatile Maintenance & Grounds Officer to join our team at BDH. This hands-on role combines general maintenance duties with grounds and garden care, supporting both our facilities and community clients.

Working under the direction of the Facilities Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining buildings, equipment, and outdoor spaces across BDH sites and properties. This is a varied role that requires practical skills, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and presentation.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide general maintenance services across BDH facilities
- Maintain and service plant, equipment, and tools
- Conduct minor repairs and preventative maintenance tasks
- Maintain grounds, gardens, and outdoor areas across BDH properties
- Ensure all areas are clean, safe, tidy, and visually appealing
- Operate and maintain gardening equipment
- Deliver scheduled home maintenance and gardening services for community and care package clients
- Work in line with Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) guidelines
- Follow safety procedures and report maintenance issues promptly

About you

- Experience in general maintenance and/or gardening/grounds work




- Ability to operate maintenance and gardening equipment safely
- Practical problem-solving skills and a proactive approach
- Strong work ethic with ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication and customer service skills
