About the role
Based in Melbourne Office, the Operations Manager will lead a small operations team (4–5 members) and take full responsibility for daily operational management, performance improvement, cost control, and service provider oversight.
Key Responsibilities
1. Daily Operations Management
Oversee and participate in daily operational activities, ensuring smooth execution of logistics and warehouse processes.
Review operational data and generate performance reports.
Monitor service levels, shipment timelines, and issue resolution.
Step in to resolve complex operational issues when necessary.
2. Team Management
Directly manage and support a team.
Allocate tasks and set clear performance expectations.
Conduct regular team meetings and performance reviews.
Provide coaching and hands-on training to improve team capability.
3. Financial & Cost Control
Manage operational budgets and cost structures.
Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining service quality.
4. Process Improvement & Execution
Identify operational bottlenecks and implement practical improvements.
Standardize procedures and ensure warehouse operations comply with SOPs.
Improve reporting accuracy and operational visibility.
6. Cross-functional Coordination
Work closely with Sales, Finance, Customer Service, and Warehouse teams.
Support key clients with operational solutions when needed.
Ensure communication between departments is timely and effective.
About you
- 5+ years experience in logistics / freight forwarding / courier / e-commerce fulfilment operations
- Previous team leadership experience
- Strong analytical skills with experience in reporting
- Hands-on, problem-solving mindset
- Ability to work in a fast-paced operational setting
- Have rights to live and work in Australia
