Status: Full Time or Part Time (minimum 5 days per fortnight), every second weekend required
Hours: Site Hours: 7am to 7pm, standard customer care shift 8am to 5pm.

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Customer Care Assistant to be the welcoming face and administrative hub of our animal welfare organisation. This essential role focuses on delivering exceptional customer service and efficient case management to achieve the best possible outcomes for both our clients and animals in care.

Key Responsibilities

- Frontline Customer Service: Deliver high quality, professional, and friendly customer service.

- Admissions & Reclaims Case Management: Efficiently manage the intake of impounded animals. This involves thorough investigation, liaising with councils and owners, handling sensitive discussions regarding reclaim fees, and ensuring prompt reunification of lost animals.

- Animal Intake & Care: Conduct initial animal intake procedures, including database entry, preparation of housing, scanning for microchips, and welfare checks.



Provide basic animal care, including feeding, cleaning pens, enrichment, and safe handling of animals using a fear-free approach.

- Administrative & Operational Support: Accurately record all conversations and case details. Assist with retail store maintenance, inventory, end-of-day security checks, and ensure the reception area is clean and inviting.

- Shelter Participation & Safety: Maintain knowledge of companion animal legislation and actively promote the organisation's mission. Adhere strictly to all health and safety protocols and assist with the safe transport of animals as required.

Qualifications/Experience

- Animal industry or customer service administration experience

- Animal industry qualification an advantage

- Council or regulatory experience

- Understanding of relevant legislation

- Experience in conflict resolution particularly in an emotionally charged workplace

- Current Drivers Licence
