ABOUT THE ROLE

This role is all about learning, development, and being part of a close-knit installation crew where teamwork is key. As a 1st Year Electrical Apprentice, you’ll be starting a rewarding long-term career while building essential skills through structured on-the-job and off-the-job training.

Solar installation is a highly collaborative process. Working alongside our experienced electricians and onsite installation team, you’ll gain hands-on experience while receiving ongoing support as you develop your skills.

Your duties will include (but are not limited to):

- Working at heights to assist with solar panel installations on residential and commercial roofs

- Safely lifting, carrying and positioning panels, railing systems and equipment

- Assisting with inverter installations and system components

- Learning and supporting basic electrical tasks

- Preparing worksites including ladder setup, safety systems and tools

- Maintaining a clean, safe and organised work environment

- Using hand and power tools





- Following direction from licensed electricians to complete tasks safely and efficiently

- Representing ECES professionally onsite, with a strong focus on safety, teamwork and customer service

? If applying as a Trade Assistant, you’ll work in the same team environment, demonstrating your construction skills by supporting installations and contributing to project delivery, with the prospect to grow within the business.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

- Current Construction Induction White Card

- Manual Driver’s licence

· Working at Heights (willingness to obtain)

· LVR/CPR certificate (willingness to obtain)

· Genuine interest in becoming a qualified electrician (not applicable for Trade Assistant)

· Strong interest in the renewable energy/solar industry

· Great attitude, solid common sense and enjoys working as part of a team

- Physically fit and capable of manual work

- Comfortable working at heights

- Strong work ethic and reliability

- Able to work in Cairns climate conditions

- Hold permanent Australian working rights

Highly regarded:

- Previous labouring, construction or trade assistant experience (essential for TA applicants)

- Knowledge or experience working with hand or power tools (essential for TA applicants)
