With a high-performing team and an expanding client base, we're looking for a Credit Officer / Parabroker who wants more than a back-office role — someone who enjoys working directly with clients and is genuinely interested in building toward becoming a broker.

About the Role

This is a key role responsible for managing the credit and application process from submission through to settlement. It is deliberately not a purely administrative position. You'll be client-facing from day one — speaking with clients, following up on documents, managing expectations, and keeping applications moving efficiently.

For the right person, this role is a explicit pathway to becoming a broker. You'll learn deal structuring, lender policy, and client management from experienced brokers, with the support, mentoring, and referral flow of the broader Maclean Group behind you. We want someone who sees this as the first step in a broking career, not the end point.

Key Responsibilities

- Assess and analyse loan applications across residential and commercial lending

- Work on deals primarily involving self-employed clients and complex income structures

- Prepare and structure deals for submission to lenders

- Run serviceability calculations and scenario modelling, including complex and self-employed scenarios





- Liaise directly with clients to gather information and supporting documents

- Follow up with clients, lenders, solicitors, accountants, and other stakeholders

- Manage lender communication and application progress through to settlement

- Ensure all applications meet compliance and documentation requirements

- Support brokers with credit policy guidance and deal structuring

- Identify risks and provide solutions to strengthen applications

- Maintain accurate records within CRM and aggregator systems

About You

- Essential: Experience in mortgage credit assessment, lending, or a parabroking/credit support role

- Comfortable and confident in a client-facing role — you enjoy speaking with clients and managing relationships

- Ambitious — you want to grow into a broker and are willing to learn the skills to get there

- Highly preferred: experience within a mortgage broking firm

- Highly preferred: commercial lending / commercial credit experience

- Preferred: experience with self-employed clients, including financials, add-backs, and complex structures

- Strong understanding of lender policies and servicing calculators

- High attention to detail and strong analytical skills

- Ability to manage multiple deals and deadlines

- Highly organised, proactive, and able to take ownership of the process

- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

- Experience with aggregator platforms and broker systems is advantageous
