Empowering Connection is a registered NDIS provider on the Fleurieu Peninsula, South Australia. We were founded on lived and family experience of disability — and that shapes everything about how we work.
We are seeking a Registered Nurse to join our team in a specialist clinical oversight role, supporting a participant with high-complexity care needs in a Supported Independent Living (SIL) and community setting.
This is a flexible position combining direct clinical oversight responsibilities with a small number of hands-on support shifts. You will serve as the clinical governance lead for a dedicated support team — ensuring all High Intensity Daily Activities (HIDPA) are delivered safely, competently, and in line with NDIS Practice Standards.
Our mission is to empower individuals to connect and thrive — living the life they choose. If you share that purpose, we want to hear from you.|

Deliver and document competency training and sign-off for support workers across all HIDPA tasks — including rescue buccal/IM administration, SZEP protocol, complex feeding and positioning, bowel management, skin integrity monitoring, and compression/lymphoedema pump operation
Develop, review and maintain HIDPA Care Plans, Mealtime Management Plans and nursing documentation in line with NDIS Practice Standards for High Intensity Supports
Oversee a complex polypharmacy profile including medication reconciliation and administration records
Provide clinical direction for manual handling sign-off (Sera Steady 2:1 transfers, left hemiplegia-specific technique)
Liaise with allied health, treating GP,
specialists and families as the clinical point of contact
Support incident escalation, clinical incident reviews and mandatory NDIS reporting
Complete contemporaneous clinical documentation in Shift Care
Participate in a small number of direct support shifts alongside the team

Complex medication management experience
Experience in SIL or 24/7 community support environments (Desirable)
Competency in enteral and modified texture feeding support (Desirable)
Post-graduate qualifications in disability or community nursing (Desirable)
Manual handling and complex transfer experience
Confidence delivering hands-on staff training and competency sign-off
Solid clinical documentation skills
NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (or willingness to obtain)
Current First Aid and CPR (HLTAID011 or equivalent)
