Casual Stablehand / Groom – Competition Horses

Private Property | Brisbane (Western Suburbs)

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Casual Stablehand / Groom for immediate start to assist with the daily care and presentation of competition horses and maintenance of a private stable facility.

This role suits someone who takes pride in horse care, presentation, and maintaining an organised, professional environment.

Key Responsibilities:

- Grooming, washing and preparing horses to a high standard

- Picking out hooves, applying boots and basic rug changes

- Holding horses for farrier, vet or treatments as required

- Monitoring horses for injuries, illness or abnormalities and reporting concerns

- Assistance with preparation for competitions including organising tack, competition gear, horse feed, etc as required

- Stable & Yard Duties including:

- Cleaning stables and maintaining bedding standards

- Cleaning and refilling water troughs and feed bins

- Keeping stable areas, tack room and feed rooms clean and organised

- Raking horse paddocks and manure removal

- Removing debris and raking arena

About You





- Confident and experienced handling horses (essential)

- Minimum 3-5 years of horse handling experience required

- Previous grooming or stablehand experience highly regarded

- Calm, quiet and professional around horses

- Reliable, punctual and able to work independently

- Solid attention to cleanliness and organisation

- Physically fit and capable of manual work

- Valid driver's licence and own transport

- Must be located within the 4069 Area (Pullenvale, Moggill, Kenmore, Brookfield, Chapel Hill)

Availability

- Flexible hours and days

- 3 - 4 days per week / 2 - 3 hours per day

- Weekend work required when owners are away at competitions

- Flexibility and reliability are essential
