Experienced Dog Daycare Team Leader – Barkley Park Kedron

Barkley Park is not your average daycare.

We are Brisbane North’s largest purpose built indoor and outdoor dog daycare facility, built around structure, safety, enrichment, training, communication, and high standards of care.

We are looking for an experienced Dog Daycare Team Leader to join our leadership team in Kedron.

This is not an entry level role.

We are specifically looking for someone who already has strong experience in:

- Dog handling and canine behaviour
- Leading or mentoring staff
- Customer service and client communication
- Working in quick paced animal care environments

You must be confident managing large groups of dogs, reading behaviour early, supporting team members on the floor, communicating professionally with clients, and helping create a calm, structured and safe environment every day.

About the Role

As a Team Leader, you will work hands on with the dogs while also helping lead daily floor operations and supporting the wider team.

This role is physical, fast paced, highly rewarding, and requires strong leadership under pressure.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Supervising structured dog playgroups
- Reading and managing canine behaviour safely and proactively
- Supporting and mentoring daycare attendants
- Helping maintain calm and structured group dynamics
- Assisting with daily operational flow and team coordination




- Speaking confidently and professionally with clients
- Managing customer concerns with care and professionalism
- Maintaining extremely high cleaning and hygiene standards
- Assisting with incident reporting and safety procedures
- Reception and booking system support where required
- Assisting with social media content, photos and videos
- Contributing to continuous improvement within the business

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate will have:

- Previous experience working in dog daycare, boarding, training or animal care industries
- Leadership or supervisory experience
- Strong knowledge of canine body language and behaviour
- Confidence handling dogs of all breeds, sizes and temperaments
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to mentor and guide junior staff
- Calmness under pressure and strong situational awareness
- Reliability, accountability and professionalism
- Strong work ethic and willingness to lead by example
- Physical fitness and ability to work on your feet all day

Highly Regarded:

- Dog training qualifications or experience
- Experience managing group dog behaviour
- Experience in high volume daycare environments
- First aid or animal handling certifications

Hours & Pay

- Casual position available (Permanent Part Time options also available)
- 25–38 hours per week
- Monday to Friday roster
- Shifts between 6:00am and 6:30pm
- Above award rates based on experience
