About the Role

We’re seeking an exceptional Head of Sales to lead our direct sales and sales development teams with a focus on strategic growth, client engagement, and team performance. This role is pivotal in shaping the future of our sales function, driving new business across key verticals, and ensuring Esri Australia remains the go-to provider for geospatial solutions nationwide.

What you will do

- In this role, your day-to-day will involve a agile mix of leadership, strategy, and client engagement:
- Lead, coach, and inspire a high-performing national sales team to meet and exceed growth targets.
- Design and implement a comprehensive national sales strategy, while guiding divisional leaders in executing tailored sales plans.
- Provide sales governance and mentorship, supporting the development of effective territory and account plans.
- Collaborate closely with Marketing, Customer Success, and Professional Services to deliver seamless client experiences.
- Drive C-level engagement, building trusted relationships that result in long-term strategic partnerships.
- Represent Esri Australia as a thought leader in the geospatial and data analytics community.
- Maximise market reach potential with a partner ecosystem.
- Continuously assess and optimise team structure, workflows, and capability to maximise effectiveness.
- Lead the recruitment and onboarding of top-tier sales talent, building a values-driven, high-performance culture.
- Deliver accurate sales forecasts and pipeline insights to inform executive decision-making.
- Create a motivating and energised team environment, celebrating wins and encouraging continuous development.

About You

You’re an experienced, hands-on sales leader with a passion for performance, strategy, and team success. You bring both vision and rigour—someone who thrives on building winning teams and turning ambitious goals into tangible results. You understand how to drive growth, develop people, and create value for clients in a competitive B2B landscape.

What we are looking for





- A proven track record of consistently exceeding ambitious sales targets and revenue goals.
- Demonstrated experience in closing complex, high-value deals across various sectors.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in business, management, or a related field.
- A history of leading, inspiring, and scaling high-performance sales teams nationally.
- Deep understanding of modern sales methodologies and a disciplined, process-oriented approach to pipeline management.
- Strong ability to build trusted, commercially focused relationships with senior decision-makers.
- Confident in translating client needs into tailored, impactful solutions.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills—you’re compelling in the boardroom and precise in written proposals.
- A natural storyteller, with an ability to craft a clear and persuasive sales narrative.
- Interest in the spatial technology sector and a genuine willingness to develop domain expertise.
- Full-time working rights in Australia and a strong alignment with Esri Australia’s core values.
