About the Role

Parramatta Mission & Parramatta Community Uniting Church (PCUC) is looking for a dynamic, community‑minded leader to drive programs that make a real difference. As our Community Activities Manager, you’ll help shape, deliver and continuously improve activities and services that engage with the community and support people experiencing disadvantage - ensuring every program is client‑centered, culturally responsive and aligned with our mission.

You’ll lead program design, performance and budgets, strengthen partnerships, and champion innovative, community‑driven initiatives. From program design, evaluation, accreditation and sector advocacy, this role is central to expanding PCUC’s impact across the Western Sydney community.

Parramatta Mission & Parramatta Community Uniting Church (PCUC) is seeking an experienced and values‑driven Community Activities Manager to lead and strengthen our community programs and initiatives.

In this role, you will lead the design, delivery and continuous improvement of high‑quality community activities that are client‑centered, respond to local community needs,



culturally responsive and aligned with our mission and strategic direction. You will support a diverse team, build strong partnerships, champion lived‑experience voices and ensure our programs are effective, responsive and compliant.

From program design, evaluation, accreditation and sector advocacy this role is central to expanding our impact and contributing to meaningful, community‑driven change across Western Sydney.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead the co‑design, delivery and continuous improvement of high‑quality, responsive social and support programs
- Build and maintain robust partnerships across the social sector, government, church networks and community organisations
- Lead the community team (excluding Meals Plus), fostering a high‑performing, values‑driven team ensuring effective decision‑making, risk management and consistent operational processes across all programs
- Develop and implement a learning and development framework for community staff and volunteers
- Drive community engagement, co‑design processes and lived‑experience initiatives
- Identify partnership opportunities and contribute to funding applications, grants, budgets and strategic development
- Champion food security, homelessness support and community wellbeing initiatives including planning and facilitating workshops, events and training
- Establish and oversee the lived‑experience advisory group and lived‑experience media program, including frameworks and operating plans
- Oversee compliance, reporting,



evaluation and program performance and any relevant accreditation processes
- Contribute to building PCUC’s organisational profile and community presence
- Prepare reports on service trends, community needs and recommended responses

About You You’re a values‑driven community professional who combines strategic thinking with hands‑on leadership. You bring:

- Tertiary qualifications in social work, community development or a related field
- Experience supporting complex clients and at‑risk communities (including but not limited to homelessness, food insecurity, Community Housing, Juvenile Justice, First Nations, CALD, trauma, FDSV, mental health)
- Strong knowledge of the NSW community sector
- Proven experience in program design, service delivery, and people management
- Demonstrated success contributing to funding submissions and grant processes
- Experience leading, coaching and supporting staff, volunteers and students
- Strong Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem‑solving skills
- Strong time‑management and the ability to juggle multiple priorities
- A genuine commitment to PCUC’s mission and a passion for community‑led change

Desirable

- Knowledge of Trauma‑Informed Care
- Mental Health First Aid
- Unrestricted driver’s license
- First Aid certification
- Vicarious Trauma training
- Experience working within or alongside non‑profit organisations
