Our Domestic and Family Violence Service focuses on prioritising the safety and well-being of individuals affected by domestic violence. We adopt a collaborative and client-centred approach to help our clients achieve their safety and support goals.
**Position Overview**:
The Domestic and Family Violence Counsellor will provide individual and group counselling and therapeutic support to victims, including children who have witnessed or experienced domestic violence. Services will be delivered in safe and accessible environments, including CTC offices and schools.
This role involves assessing risk, responding to client needs, and co-facilitating therapeutic group programs. A commitment to trauma-informed care and a strong focus on client empowerment are essential for success in this position.
- A minimum 3-year degree in Counselling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience in working with high-risk domestic violence situations and engagement with hard-to-reach young people.
- Knowledge of the Domestic and Family Violence Protection Act 2012 and the Child Protection Act 1999.
- Ability to deliver culturally appropriate counselling support and work with complex client issues.
**Salary & Benefits**:
Compensation will be based on the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010 (SCHADS), with a salary range of $44.58 to $51.00 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience. We offer salary packaging options and opportunities for professional development.
