03rd May, 2026 We are currently seeking an experienced and qualified Maintenance Fitter for an exciting opportunity with a global manufacturing company based in Lilydale. This is a day shift role with immediate commencement, offering a 3-4 month tenure in a well-established and supportive environment. About the Role: You will be responsible for both preventative and reactive maintenance across a range of advanced manufacturing equipment, ensuring optimal performance, minimal downtime, and adherence to safety standards. Key Responsibilities: Perform preventative, predictive, and breakdown maintenance on: Plastic extrusion machinery packing systems Heavy-duty reeling equipment Diagnose faults and carry out root cause analysis on mechanical failures Strip, assess, rebuild, and install gearboxes, motors, pumps, and conveyors Conduct bearing replacements, alignment, lubrication, and adjustments Perform welding, fabrication, and minor machining as required Maintain and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems Assist with PLC fault finding in conjunction with electricians/automation teams Work with maintenance software systems for:
Logging work orders Recording completed maintenance Managing spare parts and inventory Support planned shutdowns, line changeovers, and equipment upgrades Participate in continuous improvement and reliability initiatives Ensure all work is completed in line with safety, quality, and compliance standards Maintain accurate maintenance records and reporting documentation Skills & Experience: Trade qualified Maintenance Fitter Proven experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting capability Knowledge of PLC-controlled machinery highly regarded Experience with drives, motors, and gearbox overhauls/repairs Exposure to hydraulics and pneumatics Strong commitment to safety and housekeeping standards Ability to work autonomously and within a team What's on Offer: Immediate start Day shift hours (Monday to Friday) Clean, safe, and well-maintained working setting Opportunity to work with a leading global manufacturer Apply For Job
