About the Role

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Senior Financial Accountant to join the Sydney-based finance team in a broad and highly visible role supporting the ANZ business.

Reporting directly into senior finance leadership, this role will take ownership across financial reporting, month-end and year-end close, audit and tax compliance, balance sheet integrity, and process improvement initiatives, while also partnering closely with key stakeholders across the wider business and regional/global teams.

This is far more than a transactional accounting role and would suit someone who enjoys operating as a true finance business partner while still remaining hands-on technically.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead month-end and year-end close processes




• Prepare financial statements and statutory reporting
• Manage audit coordination and tax compliance activities
• Ensure accuracy across balance sheet reconciliations and controls
• Drive process improvement, automation, and system efficiencies
• Partner with operational stakeholders across the business
• Collaborate with regional and global finance teams
• Support and mentor junior finance team members

About You

• CA or CPA qualified
• Previous experience within a Senior Financial Accountant or similar role
• Strong technical accounting and reporting capability
• Experience working within product-based businesses such as healthcare, medical devices, FMCG, manufacturing, wholesale, or distribution
• Exposure to inventory-heavy or operationally complex environments highly regarded
• Strong ERP/SAP systems exposure
• Commercial mindset with strong stakeholder engagement skills
• Someone proactive, solutions-focused, and comfortable taking ownership
